🤔The Problems We Face

Lumi and Tena Whitepaper: 2. The Problem

We believe in the revolutionary future promised by blockchain technology. However, the current reality of the Web3 world is a significant departure from the ideal we envision. 'Lumi and Tena' was created to bridge this very gap by addressing the following four core problems.

2.1. Technical Barriers Become Mental Barriers The first step into Web3 is often closer to frustration than excitement. Wallets, seed phrases, gas fees, bridges, swaps... this endless stream of unfamiliar concepts erects a formidable 'wall of technology' before new users. Most services are designed with the prerequisite of a deep technical understanding, forcing users to navigate complex procedures as if they were deciphering a code.

This impersonal experience goes beyond mere inconvenience; it instills a profound sense of alienation in users. It creates a situation where the roles are reversed: people must adapt to the technology, rather than the technology serving as a tool for the people. Ultimately, countless potential participants who encounter this cold wall turn away, feeling that Web3 is an exclusive club not meant for them.

2.2. A Market That Chases Price Over Value The conversation in the current crypto market is driven not by 'intrinsic value' but by 'short-term price'. Communities repeatedly celebrate and despair over momentary chart fluctuations rather than discussing the technology's philosophy and vision. This speculation-driven culture is a poison that inhibits the healthy growth of the ecosystem.

Projects become preoccupied with capturing short-term market attention instead of realizing their long-term roadmaps, and users remain transient investors rather than meaningful participants. In a market where "How high will it go?" has become more important than "What can we build?", true innovation and deep, trusting relationships can hardly take root.

2.3. An Ecosystem Where Trust Has Evaporated The phrase "Trust the code" is idealistic, but most users cannot understand the code. For the average person, a smart contract is like a 'black box' that cannot be opened, and this information asymmetry exposes users to extreme anxiety.

The constant stream of rug pulls, hacks, and protocol failures amplifies this anxiety and solidifies the perception that 'Web3 is dangerous.' Users cannot fully trust how their assets are managed or whether promised rewards are distributed correctly. In soil where trust has evaporated, no community and no ecosystem can take root.

2.4. Disconnected and Fragmented Experiences The current Web3 ecosystem is not a great continent but an archipelago of countless 'islands' scattered in disarray. Users must constantly travel between these islands to use different services like DeFi, NFTs, and games.

Each service is trapped in its own silo, failing to create synergy, which results in a disconnected and fatiguing experience for the user. Data and assets do not flow smoothly, and the reputation and trust earned in one service do not carry over to another. This fragmented structure severely inhibits the true potential of Web3: the 'network effect.'

We intend to confront these problems head-on and propose a completely new approach through 'Lumi and Tenna.'
